Waiting to DisappearTitle: Waiting to Disappear
Author: April Fritz Young
Illustrator: Fritz
Publisher: Hyperion
Number of  pages: 316

Buddy Mullens feels abandoned. First, her brother Booth died in a car accident 500 miles away. Mama blames herself. She tucked herself away in her own dark world. One day, she has a break down and asks to be taken to Moudus Meadows, a place for people who don’t belong anywhere else. How could Mama leave? Even with her glamorous Aunt Sherry here to stay, Buddy feels alone. She is determined to get Mama home where she belongs.

Waiting to Disappear, written by April Young Fritz and published by Hyperion, is sure to teach the meaning of family. I would recommend this and a Case of Brilliance by Rebecca Hein to teenagers, adults, and families. I can’t think of any bad parts in this book. (December, 2002)
