Have you ever had to move? Well in the book Good-bye, 382 Shin
Dang Dong a young girl named Jangmi had to move half way around
the world. Jangmi's parents tried to convince her that it will be just fine,
but Jangmi still didn't want to leave her old friends and thought she would
hate living in America without her old friends. The part I didn't like was
when they were sitting under the willow tree discussing how far apart they
would me. It made me feel sad. My favorite part was when Jangmi made her
first new friend. I think that this book is a great book to read aloud to
2nd and 1st graders but 3rd and 4th graders could read it to themselves.
There are some foreign words that make it interesting. (October, 2002)
