MiracleFollowing is a review of "Miracle" when it appeared in the movie theater.
Rated PG

Do you believe in miracles? Well neither did I until I saw the movie "Miracle." "Miracle" is a true story of how a group of young American boys who didn't know each other, beat the 1976 gold medallist soviet hockey team. This is also the true story of coach Herb Brook's unbelievable phenomenon in the 1980 Olympics. This movie shows how an ordinary group of boys can go on to be world champions. The famous Kurt Russell played the role of Herb Brooks, who died recently in a car accident. To bad Herb wasn't here today to see the great movie about his miracle, if only he had worn a seatbelt.

The shots were unbelievable. They really made you wonder if they sat the camera on the ice and just let it film. The clothing and sets were believable for that time period, although some parts seemed a bit too modern.

The movie was always changing course so you would never know what was to happen next, unless of course you were alive in 1980. Many parents today still remember that moment. For me it was the first time I had ever seen that story, but I had heard of it and it was really easy to understand. The movie probably would have been easier to understand if I was actually there when the miracle had happened. For many this story is new to them but for others it was just a way to remind them of the great story of the amazing Herb Brooks and his wonderful miracle on ice. (February, 2004)
