Title:
T*Witches
Author: H.B. Gilmore and Randi Reisfeld
Illustrator: NA
Publisher: Scholastic, Inc.
Number of pages: 308
They are identical twins, but live two very different lives. Alex lives with
her "mom" in a trailer, and her attitude towards people like Cam
is always sarcastic and negative. Cam, who lives on the other side of the
country, is popular and has loads of friends. Cam and Alex's real parents
are witches, and had them separated at birth and sent to foster homes for
one reason. The two girls have powers. . . Cam can see into the future, and
Alex can hear things that people think but haven't said. If they ever met,
together they could combine their powers and do good things. But if they fell
into the evil hands, it would be disastrous. In T*Witches, Cam
and Alex somehow meet, and realize what their powers can do together. They
attempt to help people, but will it go too far?
One thing that I really liked about this book was the dialogue between Cam and Alex, because they both try to outdo the other with arguing, putdowns, and cleverness. The characters are really well developed, and you feel like you really know them. I definitely would recommend this book for people who are into fantasy and fiction. Kids in grades 4th through 8th would probably enjoy this novel. Along with T*Witches, other books I would recommend that are somewhat similar to this one include Ella Enchanted and The Two Princesses of Bamare. If you haven't read at least one of these fantastic books, I suggest that you get started!
